Question: Why Remanufactured Transmissions versus Others
• “Remanufactured” - The first choice of professionals and you can expect considerably lower failure rates. These transmissions are processed in highly-controlled environments in a manufacturing facility, such as Drive Power’s, which strictly adhere to the original and any updated OEM specifications and tolerances, which include, but are not limited to: testing of shift-timing sequences; checking internal pressures at various shift points; setting and checking all of the tolerances throughout the transmission; and, providing a 100 percent replacement of all essential parts. A high volume professional remanufacturer, such as Drive Power, employs a highly structured quality-control process that is strictly adhered to throughout all of the production sequences. All transmission failures are completely disassembled and a thorough “continuous-product-improvement” analytical process is followed to determine the “root cause” of any problem(s) encountered. Remanufactured units provide the quality of a new OEM product for approximately half of the cost.
• “Rebuilt” - Usually processed in a small shop without top-of-the-line testing equipment, diagnostic machines, quality/process control standards and procedures, and the proper engineering support which is found in a high-volume remanufacturing plant. These small shops may be sole proprietor, franchisee or company-owned chain operators and continually encounter high rates of work / product failure as the “norm due to the complexity of modern automatic transmissions.
• “Used"- Units usually come from salvage yards. Although they may often be less expensive to acquire, they are often not dependable. Due to the salvage process, it can be unclear what the actual mileage is of the original vehicle or hidden internal damage to parts as a result of the crash.
Question: What differentiates Drive Power from its competition?
Drive Power has developed a proprietary comprehensive ID Database System which is utilized by our assembly-line personnel to readily review OEM guidelines and data for more than 5,000 transmission models. This technology provides highly accurate methodologies to configure any OEM transmission so that the remanufactured products are compatible and interchangeable with almost any vehicle. This system has been designed to provide multiple applications to various transmission make and models; a definite advantage in the Company’s fast order response program.
In addition to this proprietary ID system, Drive Power’s Operations are continuously monitored by a business-intelligence system which enhances customer service and support. This is a powerful enterprise resource planning system (“ERP”) which assists the Company’s management in performing the following: automated customer-relationship management; product planning and production; quality assurance; sales and order tracking; inventory management; parts purchasing; financial reporting; and, human resources management.
