Drive Power, a trusted source of driveline solutions, was founded in October 2001 by Rickey McDaniel and Robert Feldbauer (“Founders”). With years of experience in the automatic transmission repair industry, the Founders and the Company’s Staff are able to draw upon successful remanufactured transmission production processes which they experienced at predecessor companies. This includes significant amounts of time spent at major OEMs where they were employed in management roles in the automatic transmission remanufacturing business segment. They also have the unique perspective of the transmission repair shop environment; and, over the years they have successfully operated several transmission retail businesses. Their varied experience has resulted in a sharp focus on issues encountered daily at transmission repair centers.

The Founders saw significant changes in the past decade, primarily due to the complexity of automatic transmission engineering designs. They realized that the business model would undergo a radical change away from the “in-shop rebuilding” model over to a “remove and replace” business process. They recognized the need for transmission repairers to have a continuous, highly-reliable production / supply source, assisted and enabled by technology and logistics’ systems. Remanufactured products enable the traditional repair and fleet maintenance shops to quickly replace transmissions in a much shorter time frame in a highly efficient process, thereby increasing revenues and work throughput for individual shops, while reducing failures and improving customer satisfaction.
The Company began remanufacturing torque converters in 2007. This in-house production upgrade has significantly increased quality, reduced parts delivery requirements, and established a new product line for Drive Power’s sales team.
